Welcome to the Southern California Wushu Academy (formerly Southern California Wushu Association) website. We are a wushu school located in Garden Grove, California. Wushu is a contemporary, performance-based style of Chinese martial arts emphasizing flexibility, speed, grace, endurance, and explosiveness of movement through the execution of empty hand and weapon forms. The core curriculum of our school emulates the system established by the International Wushu Federation. This system includes the following event categories: Long Fist (Changquan), Southern Fist (Nanquan), Straight Sword (Jianshu), Broad Sword (Daoshu), Southern Broad Sword (Nandao), Spear (Qiangshu), Staff (Gunshu), and Southern Staff (Nangun).

In November of 2003, the IWF approved new standards for international competition starting in 2005 based on individual routines with a selection of compulsory difficulties. We teach both the new routines as well as the old compulsory routines. In addition, we teach optional weapons, traditional empty hand styles, and now offer classes for Taijiquan.
